Waivers and Sign-Up
SunMule lets new customers enter their own details and sign your liability waiver on their phone. Staff can then review the result from the customer profile.
Creating a waiver
Administrators open Settings > Waivers and add a waiver.
- Title: Required.
- Sections: At least one section, each with a section title and at least one bullet item.
- Signature text: Required. This is the statement the customer agrees to when signing.
- Enabled: Turn a waiver on or off.
Edit a waiver to change the wording. Changes are versioned, so SunMule knows which version each customer signed. Customers whose signed version is out of date show as Needs re-sign.
New customer sign-up
- Staff open Customers > Add and pick a delivery method: Text message, Email or QR code.
- The customer opens the link on their phone, confirms or fills in their details and signs the waiver.
- The sign-up appears in the list of new sign-ups as Pending until the customer finishes, then as Completed.
- Staff can open the customer's profile and continue, or finish the account at the desk.
Sign-up links expire after 72 hours, and a link can be re-sent for a customer who has not completed it.
Existing customers who need to sign
If a customer has not signed, or their waiver needs re-signing, open their profile and resend the waiver link. The customer signs without re-entering their details.
Waiver status
On a customer's Account tab, the waiver badge shows:
- Signed: The customer signed the current waiver.
- Not signed: No signed waiver on record.
- Needs re-sign: A newer waiver version, or an expired signature, requires a new signature.
SunMule also records the date of each signature and the version signed. Where your state's UV rules require consent for minors, a separate minor consent status is kept.
