Gift cards

Selling a gift card

Gift cards are sold at the point of sale using a Gift Cards product. Each gift card bought gets its own balance. When the sale is paid, SunMule creates the gift card with the amount purchased and emails it, with a QR code, to the purchasing customer, who can forward it to the recipient.

Redeeming a gift card

Scan the gift card's QR code or barcode at the point of sale. SunMule looks up the remaining balance and applies it to the cart.

  • A gift card can be used for part of a sale, with the rest paid by another method.
  • A gift card can be used until its balance is gone. The balance updates after each use.
  • Only active gift cards can be redeemed.

Customers can open the link on their gift card to see the current balance.

Customer portal

Coupons and gift cards are redeemed by staff at the point of sale. They cannot be applied in the customer portal.
